Formed in 2003, DAI began in the Self-Storage Industry building new facilities and immediately expanded into “ground-up” Office Buildings, Tilt-ups and Tenant Improvements. We are a commercial general contracting firm with experience in all facets of construction supported by a staff with well over 60 years of combined and varied construction experience. We have maintained our success by treating our clients with unparalleled service and creative input for all their construction needs. We are a service oriented company with a commitment to client satisfaction through quality control and meticulous management of our client’s pre-construction and construction needs. Laurence H. Damato – Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Damato has more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of construction and 25 years in general contracting as a project manager/estimator in the Southern California commercial construction market. As Chief Executive Officer, he has direct responsibility for negotiating and administrating contracts, directing field operations and directing on-site supervision, establishing, and managing budgets, and schedules.
Mr. Damato negotiates the owner contracts, procures and maintains licensing and insurance. He has lead and directed both office and field personnel while maintaining his leadership role throughout the company’s growth.

Frederick B. Hanhauser – Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Hanhauser has many years of management experience, including ten years in general contracting and two years in civil engineering. With an education in business management and accounting, Mr. Hanhauser is directly responsible for developing and managing the Company business plan and all other related fiscal operations. In addition, he is directly responsible for estimating all DAI projects as well managing the operations of high profile clients on specific projects.
Mr. Hanhauser is a proven problem solver through sound judgment, adaptability to accomplish virtually any task, and attention to contractual and reporting details has been a key to the success of DAI General Contracting. Mr. Hanhauser is also LEED BD+C accredited and a volunteer with Junior Achievement, Economics for Success.
