Laurence is the Founder of DAI General Contracting and has more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of construction and 25 years in general contracting as a project manager/estimator in both the Southern and Northern California commercial construction markets. As Chief Executive Officer, he has direct responsibility for establishing both Owner Contracts and Subcontracts, directing field operations and on-site supervision, and oversees budgets and schedules. Laurence negotiates the owner contracts, procures, and maintains licensing and insurance. Larry has led and directed both office and field personnel while maintaining his leadership role throughout the company’s many years of growth.

Mr. Stiver has established himself as one the premier Estimators in California Construction market and most certainly in Self Storage with well over 1500 estimates and budgets completed over the last 13 years. His dogged pursuit of information and eye for detail has been a key component of the Company’s success. Mr. Stiver has helped establish and maintain DAI’s Subcontractor base and has helped to grow and continue those key relationships. He has extensive experience in both the “Hard Bid” market and Negotiated Projects with a specialty in establishing Preliminary budgets for countless Clients and Projects.

Kimberly has spent most of her professional career in Commercial Construction and Commercial Real Estate with positions ranging from Property Management, Coordination to A/R and A/P. She’s worked for both Construction firms as well as Real Estate Development Companies and Suppliers. Kimberly joined DAI in 2016 and had an immediate impact on Project Coordination companywide, enhancing our company’s ability to handle a high volume of projects with accuracy and reliability. Kimberly currently assists the principals in all manner of preconstruction services and capably navigates Prime Contracts through the AIA Program and Data Base. Additionally, Kimberly manages and directs all DAI Coordinators while assisting with the implementation of Procore Management Software while constantly interfacing with our Accounting Department, Subcontractor base and our valued clients. Kimberly’s capable, understanding yet firm demeanor has leveled up virtually all aspects of the DAI’s day-to-day operations.

Jennifer began her Construction career at DAI after a number of years in Event Planning as well as positions at various Wellness and Non-Profit organizations. Jennifer began in operations at DAI assisting a growing group of Project Managers as a Project Coordinator all while serving as Executive Assistant to the Principals. After two years in operations, it was clear Jennifer had a vision for Human Resources as DAI began to grow, gaining her HR certification while learning on the job. The construction industry is rife with potential HR issues and Jennifer quickly began the process of leveling our firm up to become not only a fully compliant workplace but an attractive one for potential hires as well. Along with her duties of Employee relations, Jennifer has excelled in talent acquisition making DAI’s company culture one of respect and a workplace environment we can all be proud of. Jennifer is SHRM-CP Certified and a member of SHRM, NHRA and an HRA Contributor.

Shad brings twenty-six years of construction management and general contracting experience in both Southern and Northern California markets to DAI. Though he’s worn many hats at DAI, he is currently responsible for direction of all field operations and onsite supervision while administering subcontracts in the field. He assists the principals in establishing and managing budgets and staffing at all field levels. He is directly responsible for assisting field staff in preparing and implementing construction schedules for all projects. Shad oversees and maintains OSHA outlined safety programs on all sites and has a proven ability to problem solve, demonstrate good judgement and adaptability to accomplish all tasks at hand. His attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting brings a high level of Client/Contractor communication to all our projects. He has an exceptional ability to oversee multiple projects and manage project staff simultaneously.

Randy joined DAI in 2015 soon after completing his studies and interning both in Northern California and abroad. Randy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Chico State University with minor in both Project Management and Spanish. Randy has ascended the ranks at DAI, starting as a Project Coordinator then spending several years in our Estimating Department gaining invaluable knowledge of pricing, quantity take offs and managing our Subcontractor Base. Ultimately Randy has become one of our lead Project Managers and has recently completed two of our company’s most challenging Self Storage projects in the same month; a 98,000 square feet facility 7 story with a basement and another 123,925 square foot all Concrete 7 Story Storage Facility. Randy is bi-lingual and is proficient in Auto CAD, Civil 3D, Solid Works, QuickBooks, MS Project, Bluebeam, and Power point.

Tom originally joined our company in 2016 serving as a Job Site Project Engineer before working his way up to an Assistant Project Manager. Tom then left our firm in 2018 taking a position of Senior Project Engineer for another General Contracting firm. Tom returned to DAI one year later and immediately moved to Project Manager and has excelled ever since completing a number of projects well over 100,000 square feet while showing the flexibility to manage most of our Tenant Improvement work. Tom returned to DAI with a new eye for detail after completing improvements at UCLA Hammer Museum and serves as Project Manager for some of our most valued clients. Tom has a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Management from Cal State Long Beach along with certifications as both Commercial Plumbing and Building Inspector.

Matthew Fithian

Matthew came aboard within months of completing his studies at the University of California Irvine where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Renewable Energy System Design and Mechanical System Design. Matt was residing in Northern California at the time of his hire in 2020 and came aboard as a Jobsite Covid Officer in Oakland due to an urgent need at the time. Matthew was subsequently thrown into a Superintendent role for a few months before relocating to Southern California and joining our Staff as a Project Engineer. Matthew then diligently assisted our most Senior Project Manager for well over a year before his move to Project Manager. Matthew’s light on his feet, conscientious, confident, and has earned the respect of not only the principals, but his co-workers and most importantly our clients.

Courtney came to DAI from the Hospitality Industry bringing an apt attitude and general ability to meet each and every task handed to her head on. Courtney’s ability to manage her assigned Project Managers is the very definition of project support all while quickly becoming our Procore guru on the operations side. In addition Courtney assists our Executive Manager in training others in all aspects of her position. After her hire in 2021 her supervisor and both principals were taken by her friendly nature and willingness to learn a whole new industry. Courtney spent a number of years as Events Manager at the Ritz Carlton and graduated from Chico State University majoring in Recreation Administration and Special Events while minoring in Business Administration.
